Rimmel Foundation & Lash Accelerator Mascara

So with a wedding coming up & generally not having much to spend on myself I've been trying to find every beauty bargain lately! This is the second time I have bought the Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara, the first time was from Boots after I had heard great things about it, I think it was £8.99, this time I found it in Wilkinsons for £4.98! Its a fantastic mascara, I do tend to use more than one mascara and layer them, for day to day I use my ELF studio mineral mascara first then go back over with this one, I wouldnt say that I have noticed my lashes getting any longer but it does make them feel soft & conditoned. For a night out I then add a third coat, with my MAC false lash effect mascara.
This is the first time I have bought a Rimmel Foundation, but again it was from Wilkinsons & was also £4.98 so I thought I would give it a try, its the Lasting Finish 25 hour foundation I bought it in ivory, I apply my founation with a sponge wedge, it has a really nice quite thick consistancy, which gives a good coverage & is easy to blend. It really does last all day, I finish my face with an FCUK bronzer and my ELF clarifying powder, it really does last al day, as a hairdresser I rarely get chance to check my make up through the day, but need to stay flawless.

Garnier B.B cream

I was sent a sample pack of this B.B cream to try & with all the hype I couldn't wait to try it.
B.B is short for blemish balm, its a skincare / makeup hybrid. BB creams have been popular in Asian markets for a while now & they re now starting to break through into the english market.
I has quite a strong fragrance to it which I wasnt a great fan of, it has a lovely light texture, but as Im used to wearing quite a high coverage foundation I wouldnt feel comfortable without applkying a foundation over the top, as it does really over coverage as such. It would be good as a foundation primer or for someone with naturally flawless skin!
If you want to try it for free visit www.garnier.co.uk to register for a free sample, you will also be sent emails with the chance to try other great products from garnier.

4 months to go!

So its literally 4 months till my wedding! Which is so exciting, but means its about time I got back into shape, Because I really dont want to have fat arms and a fat face on my wedding photos! I dont follow a strict diet I just find that cutting down portion sizes, not snacking between meals & cutting out fizzy drinks is enough to get the weight off. However when you are dieting you must also up your beauty routine to ensure you dont get any stretch marks, I use avon celusculpt 3x on problem areas which also helps to combat celulite and soap & glory body butters & flirtigo daily. I also do dry body bushing before I shower which helps to improve circulation, prevent celulite & also exfoliates the skin. All you do is brush in long strokes upwards on all problem areas, it only takes a couple of minutes but can make a real difference.

Dip Dyed/Ombre Hair

Ombre hair has been a huge trend for quite a while now, dip dying with fantasy colours is now also becoming a big story, with celebrities including Cher Lloyd, Nicki Minaj and Lady Gaga modelling the look. The picture above is a look I created on my sister with purple & teal semi permenant colours. It looks stunning, shes already had alot of compliments on it. This look is only for the brave, an ombre look using blondes & browns is a more wearable look for everyday.

E.L.F Haul review

To be honest when I fisrt opened the box I was a little dissapointed, the packaging looks quite cheap, (which I guess when most products are under £2 its to be expected) But once I tried the products I could see why so many people love them. The tinted moisturiser in apricot beige, covers like a foundation but is really light to apply, the tube is smaller than I expected but at just £1.50 its definately a bargain. The powder again is quite small but gives a nice coverage. The mascara is from the studio range so was slightly more, but at £3.50 its still a fraction of what you would spend on the high street. It has a small wand which I love so clump free conditioned lashes. I dont normally wear lipstick so I have been using these as a lip stain under a gloss, the colour lasts ages & the lip balm leaves lips gorgeously soft.
I would buy all of the items again I think they are great value for money & just go to show that you shouldnt judge a book by its cover!
All these products cost what I would normally spend on just a mascara!

Clip in hair extensions

So many celebs wear extensions & spend thousands of pounds keeping their hair looking this fabulous. But you can achieve looks like this one really easily, at a fraction of the price! Clip in hair extensions are a great option & alot easier to look after than the bonded types.
Im going to be doing some tutorials on how to recreate looks like Tulisas but in the mean time here are a a few tips to get you started.
Hair extensions need caring for in similar ways to your natural hair, however they dont need washing as often, even if you wear them daily you only really need to wash them weekly. When you do wash them lightly shampoo & condition them, apply morrocan oil or a light leave in conditioner, comb through gently from the tips and allow to dry naturally.
Extensions can be styled using heat such as straighteners or tongs, however its best to turn the temperature down to minimise damage. If you struggle to curl with straighteners here is a really easy way. Take a small section wrap it around 2 of your fingers, hold on to the ends & clamp between the plates of your straighteners for a few seconds, when you release allow the curl to cool before dressing out with your fingers.
If you have fine hair & you struggle with getting the snap clips to stay in place back comb lightly the section & apply hairspray, this will help to anchor the clip into place.
I havent tried them myself as yet but if you are looking for great clip in extensions the brand that alot of celebs love is Hair Rehab London by Lauren Pope (TOWIE) www.hairrehablondon.com

Summer weather can dehydrate and damage your hair. I think we all know what its like to struggle to get acomb through our hair after washing. Hair oils are huge at the moment and the original and best one has to be morroccan oil. There is now a full range of products including the original oil, conditioning masks, blowdry cremes, a glimmer shine spray (which is the best thing ever) and now also a mouse and hairspray. The oil is absorbed instantly into the hair giving shine and conditioning the hair without leaving a residue or buildup, there is alos now a lighter version for bleach blonde or very fine hair. its retails at around £30 for the 100ml bottle or £12.95 for a 30ml bottle, which isn';t cheap but you only need a small amount so it will last. My other favourite hair oil is from the Joico K-Pak range, called restorative styling oil. The whole K-pak range are amazing there is a full range of shampoos, conditioners, styling and even colours all of which are salon exclusive. Both are leave in treatment meaning you apply a small amount through damp hair before styling.

Dermalogica Facial

I had a dermalogica facial the other day and I must say it was the best facial I have ever had! They can cost up to £60 in a salon but I have found a home based therapist that charges just £30 as she doesn't have the overheads that a salon would have. Its not only great for your skin but also so relaxing! My therapist recommends having a facial every 4 weeks to keep your skin in it's best possible condition. There are also retail products that you can buy to keep your skin feeling just as great inbetween treatments.

New hair, yet again!

This is a picture of me taken this weekend at a family wedding, as you can see I'm back to bright blonde yet again, with a really dark brown under my new blunt fringe. My hair hasn't actually grown that much I had 2 Balmain hair makeup complete extensions in! they looked really natural. To get this look first section off the top half of your hair, starting at the front back brush your roots working back towards the crown. Gently smooth the hair back and pin into place, clip the extensions into place with just enough hair left above to hide the top of the wefts, then curl this free hair with straighteners for a soft curl. (There is no need to curl the underneath of your hair as it is hidden under the extension.) Hope that all makes sense! It's a great look and it really doesn't take long to do.

Trendy nail wraps

I love my trendy nails, as I work in a hair & beauty salon I get mine done in the salon but you can buy nail wraps yourself & have a go. On my toes I wear them for about 4 weeks, on my fingernails they last about 5 days. I get so many comments on them and they do stay looking as good as when they are first applied, unlike a polish which can chip. To apply you just choose the wrap that will fit the nail, cut in half, heat the back with a hairdryer & carefully stretch over the nail for a perfect fit. The wraps cost around £6 per pack, or in the salon where I work the beautician charges £15 for hands or feet or £25 for both, think most salons will charge a similar amount. The next thing I want to try is 3d acrylic nail art, Ive found a mobile nail technician, cant wait to see what she can do!

Get summer slim

Summer is just around the corner, so its time to get ready to show some flesh! This product is fabulous for tightening thieghs & fighting celulite, especially great if your dieting & can also be teamed with the matching stretchmark cream. It goes on and works in really easily & the massage head feels great. It actually comes from Avon & its called cellusculpt3x. Its a bargain at around £10, skin feels smoother & tighter from the first use!

San Moriz Fake Tan

I try to reguarly Have spray tans, but before that & when I just want to top my tan up I use this San Moriz Mousse Tan. Whats great about it is, unlike a spray tan you can apply it and go straight out, great if your in a rush! I think it comes it 2 shades the one I have is the lighter one theres also a dark which is pretty dark! I would say its just as good as San Tropez never goes streaky and is really easily absorbed. I apply it with a mitt which ensures even application and more importantly prevents tango hands! The best thing about it is the price £4 its an absolute bargain, its available in Superdrug, Savers & independant chemist shops!
Trendy nail wraps are just fantastic! Ive had this leopard print design on my toenails for 3 weeks & they still look just as good as when they were first applied. Ive had so many compliments on them. I had mine applied in a salon after a pedicure, but they re actually really simple to apply so you could just as easily apply them yourself, you just have to trim them to size, heat the back for a couple of seconds with a hairdryer and press into place. ( there are loads of videos on youtube which show the application process.) They last up to a week on finger nails or up to four weeks on toes. The next thing I want to try is 3D nail art as seen on The Only Way Is Essex! Just need to find a salon round here that does it!

Loving Fakeness!

So first my tan & now I'm really getting into hair extensions! At the minute my hair is about shoulder length, Ive just discovered these complete extensions from Balmain, there so easy to wear, as my hairs quite thick I wear 2 on top of eachother and then just curl the top of my hair, they blend really well & look really natural. I wear the shorter ones for everyday & the longer one for special occasions. The other thing Im loving at the minute is Trendy Nail Wraps, Ive got the leopard print ones on my toes at the minute, they look great & last up to 4 weeks, Ill do a post on them soon!

Sunday, 3 April 2011

So Ive started having spray tans & I must say tanning is addictive! I have a spray tan once a week & then top it up through the week with gradual tan. Its amazing how different a tan can make you feel. The brand I use is Sienna X as I think this is the most natural tan on the market, there really is nothing worse than being orange! If your thinking of giving tanning a go the most important thing to remember is to exfoliate & moisturise everyday to extend the life of the tan.

New Hair!

Yet another new hairstyle! I cant believe how different changing your hair can make you look, I've had quite a few people actually not recognise me. I thought going dark would make me look really pale as I'm naturally blonde but it doesn't atall, still can't wait to get a tan though, I've bought a Sienna X spray tan kit & I'm going to get my partner to spray me.

My latest addiction!

Tiffany D

A friend recently introduced me to youtube hair & makeup tutorials & they've become abit of an addiction! My favourites are Makeup by TiffanyD & Lauren Pope Hair Rehab.

www.makeupbytiffanyd.com or search TiffanyD on youtube
This woman is amazing! She makes it all look so easy, but the way she explains everything is so easy to follow, its mainly makeup tutorials including how to recreate looks such as Kim Kardashian, but she aslo does some great videos on hairstyles. She uses alot of premium brand products but they can all be replaced with more affordable options.
